The tannic acid of this tree causes ingrown nails to oxide. Along with the sap mounting, the black discolourations spread over the wood. 

This ivory-coloured maple captivates by its plain elegance.

"Sleeping axils" sprout during the vegetation period,  tiny peg branches grow and concealed within the trunk as it grows. Form this process the very rare and highly sought-after grained wood arises. 

The elm has already been dead when the srom tore it down. For six years it lay there in the castle gardens. Another unique discovery is the obliviously ebony-coloured oak tree. For 4000 years it had rested buried in a brook until by coincident construction workers found it 12 meters deep down below.
